Sowing Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Area
Remove weeds, rocks and debris before loosening and levelling the soil.
Step 2 – Improve Your Results
Apply Midwest Groundwork Starter Fertiliser before sowing.
Step 3 – Sow the Seed
Spread the seed evenly over the prepared area.
Recommended application rates
New Lawns
20–30g/m²
Overseeding
10–15g/m²
Lightly rake the seed into the soil or cover with a thin layer of lawn underlay or compost.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist throughout germination.
Water lightly 2–4 times daily until the lawn is established.
Germination
Creeping Red Fescue generally germinates within 10–14 days under suitable growing conditions. Once established, it performs well in shaded and partially shaded environments.
First Mow
Mow when the lawn reaches approximately 70–90mm.
Never remove more than one-third of the leaf blade during any single mow.
Ongoing Care
Feed every 8–12 weeks with Midwest Launch Lawn Fertiliser.
Apply Midwest Soil Wetter during warmer months to improve water penetration and help maintain healthy growth.
